Does your website make a good impression?

Mapped Digital · Nov 8, 2017 ·

If you currently have a website, here are some questions to ask your team:

Is your organization’s your mission statement easily accessible?

What visuals does your site have? What ideas does the image convey?

Does your website have a modern design?

Is it easy for new members to join?

If someone visits your site for the first time, what can they learn from your home page?

If you don’t have a website, here are some questions to ask your team:

What would you like your audience to learn from your website?

What kind of visuals would express your organization’s brand?

What are the most important pieces of content you’d like your audience to take away from your site?

8 Reasons Why Your Organization or Chapter Deserves a Great Website

Mapped Digital · Nov 1, 2017 ·

1. Your audience notices.

When organizations or chapters have a great website, it sends a message that you understand and respect technology by making an effort to have a website that works on multiple devices. Your audience will appreciate the ability to easily access fresh content.

2. It’s important for member acquisition and growing your supporter list.

Websites are often the first way future members or supporters discover your organization. Ask yourself: what does your website say about you? and is your mission statement clear?

3. It makes you relevant.

The question is no longer do we need a website, but rather, is your organization abiding by web best practices?

4. It helps with Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

If you Google your organization’s name, what are the top results? If you have a website, it ensures something accurate and current will show up in the search results.

5. It can open up opportunities.

When someone is looking for an organization they can get involved with, they may do a Google search. If your organization has a website, you can be found online and be easily contacted. If don’t have a website, you’ll never know what, or who you’re missing.

6. It gives you more control of how others see your organization.

Having a website not only adds to a good first impression, but helps build your brand. If you don’t have a website, you’re allowing other bits of information about your organization (potentially by others) be the first thing others see on the web.

7. Connect with your current members and community.

Gone are the days of organizations talking at their community. Websites provide opportunities for two-way communication, through comments, contact forms, and social media promotion. Reply back, answer questions and build relationships with your supporters.

8. It puts all your information in one place.

For many advocacy organizations, you have a lot of content and information that is important for members to access. A quality website with a great design will have features for event promotion, take action opportunities, news, blogging, photos and videos and more.

Some organizations, particularly older organizations or those with limited resources, may have outdated, unorganized and text-heavy websites. This doesn’t have to be the case! A clean, simple and well-designed website can have great benefits for your organization or chapter. Want help but not sure where to begin? Contact us.
